More fps
I'd love to have more fps. I currently play on a laptop and its the only computer i own and dont have the budget for a new system. Im pretty sure the whole system is adequate as ive had it for a whole year without any severe problems. I would just like more fps (my max is 15-24) Way too low. Sometimes its at like 5-9. Looks like pictures moving across my screen instead of video.
Specs-
HP Pavilion dv2000 series.
Windows Vista Home Premium
1.5GB RAM
6150 nvidia geforce go graphics card
AMD Turion 64x2 processor
I dont know what my motherboard is, but it should also be fine.
So yea id like my fps to be around 50-60, and i have about a 350$ max budget. Thanks for any help to come! You're welcome to e-mail or pm me.

Since it's a laptop, you're basically stuck with the graphics you have. Best thing to do is to turn some of the graphics settings down. For example, if it's set to 4x AA, turn it down to 2x or OFF, etc.

You could upgrade to WinXP 32Bit. That will pick up your frame rates by 5 to 6fps. But you are not going to get the frame rates (60fps) you want with a 6150. It does not have the horsepower to do it.

Yeah, set everything to low and grab yourself a copy of XP.
With the 6150 you cant expect decent fps.
Save the money for a new system

6150 is a pretty decent graphics card. I usually get 30-35 FPS with it.

Try making your memory a dual-channel configuration. Use matching pairs. That will usually give you an extra 10 or 20% performance.
You're not going to get 50-60 fps out of a 6150, though.

Also, Vista is realling ripping out your memory, you only have 1.5 GB. 2 GB is recommended for vista by many.

Seeing how Vista uses 1 Gig just to run itself with no applications up.
@KZaske- Thought horsepower was for cars . lol

Quite true, not the correct use for the term, but a common one.

You could look up the subject of "Stripping down Vista" where you remove unnecessary components from Vista like that bloody clock. This does make a considerable difference. Later on I shall post the results of a test of a 550 pound PC with stripped down Vista and a 1 Grand PC, results are quite suprising.

Maybe because the clock takes up more RAM and its unnecessary?
I don't hate it.
